Elastomeric Coating Repair – Century Building Solution’s first goal was to identify all the damage and cracks throughout the parking lot. Afterwards the old coating in that area was removed and the floor was prepped for application. In some areas, it was necessary to level the floor using a combination of Neogard 70714/15 epoxy and aggregate. The perimeter edges were then ground for a smoother transition and all debris was cleared from the prepared area. We then applied one coat of epoxy primer (Neogard 7780/81) followed by a cross-hatched base coat (Neogard 70410). The cross-hatch pattern is done to ensure an even film thickness and a continuous, pinhole-free film. Once cured a layer of Neogard 7430 Elastomeric Top Coat was applied along with some oven-fried silica aggregate over it immediately after application. Any excess aggregate was cleaned off and this was followed by a second layer of the same top coat and another aggregate layer. There was a 6” overlap on repaired areas to provide a smoother transition on existing coatings and create a continuous weather seal.
